The first 30 days in a new country, with your pet.
The flight is the end of the sequence, not the end of the job. Four weeks of small tasks keep the records current and the next deadline visible.

In the first month after relocating: update the microchip registry, register with a local vet and hand over the full record, re-time the rabies booster under the new country’s schedule, arrange insurance while records are fresh, register locally where required, and export a complete PDF from Records.
Week 1
Register and settle
- Update the microchip registry to your new address and phone number. In Australia and the UK this is a legal requirement, not a courtesy.
- Register with a local vet and give them the full record: vaccination dates, titre report, the health certificate from the move.
- Keep the pet on the same food for 2 weeks; change the environment, not the diet.
Week 2
Re-time the calendar
- Work out when the next rabies booster is due under the new country’s schedule, which may differ from the UAE’s.
- Check whether the destination requires local registration or licensing (councils in Australia; some US states and cities).

Week 3
Insure and protect
- Arrange pet insurance while the examination and vaccination records are fresh. Fewer than 1 in 10 UAE pets were insured; most destination markets expect it.
- Add a local emergency vet to your phone and to Records.
- For dogs from a high-risk country into the USA: keep the revaccination certificate from the facility with the import paperwork.
Week 4
Close the file
- Export the complete record from Records as a PDF and store it with the passports.
- Note the validity dates that still matter: rabies booster, titre (12 months for Australia), and any local licence.
- If you will return to the UAE one day, remember the UAE import rules apply in reverse, and the dangerous-breed list does not allow some dogs back.

Does my UAE vaccination record work in the new country?
Yes, as history. Your new vet will follow the local schedule from here. The dates in Records or your Plan PDF are what they need.
Do I need to do anything after quarantine in Australia?
Register the dog or cat with your local council and update the microchip registry. DAFF is not involved in local registration.
Can my dog come back to the UAE later?
Import into the UAE needs a MOCCAE import permit, a health certificate and, from a high-risk country, a titre. Breeds on the UAE dangerous-animals list cannot be imported.
