How long, where, and what decides it: 10 versus 30 days in Australia, 28 days or none in the USA, and up to 4 months in Great Britain if documents are wrong.

[ quick answer · 2 september 2026 ]

Australia: a minimum 10 days at Mickleham if an official vet verified identity before the titre draw, otherwise 30. USA: no quarantine for a dog with a valid CDC-approved titre, otherwise 28 days at a registered facility. Great Britain and India: none with correct documents; up to 4 months (GB) or 15 days (India) without.

Quarantine

Minimum 10 days

Where: Mickleham post-entry quarantine facility, Melbourne. Arrival must be direct to Melbourne International Airport as manifested cargo.

Why: An official government veterinarian verified the pet’s identity before, and at a separate visit from, the RNATT blood draw. That is what reduces 30 days to 10.

Cost: You pay all quarantine costs and your account must be paid in full before release. See the DAFF fee schedule.
